Njeguši is a traditional stone village on a high plateau at the foot of Mount Lovćen, on the old road between the Bay of Kotor and Cetinje, the historic royal capital of Montenegro. It is the birthplace of the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty, which ruled Montenegro for more than two centuries, and of Petar II Petrović Njegoš himself.
The village is also famous across the Balkans for Njeguški pršut, the dry-cured prosciutto smoked in the mountain air, and for its cheese. The route leads past stone houses, dry-stone walls and mountain pastures to a beautiful panoramic viewpoint, with time to stop and take photos.
At about 18 km and 1 hour, this is our shortest tour and a relaxed introduction to riding a quad or buggy. It combines well with the Lovćen forest trail or the ride to the Njegoš Mausoleum if you want a longer day on the mountain.
Times are approximate. The pace, the stops and the exact route are adjusted to the group and to the weather and trail conditions on the day.
