The Lovćen Mausoleum Quad Tour takes you up Mount Lovćen to Jezerski vrh, at 1,657 m the second-highest peak of the mountain, where the Mausoleum of Petar II Petrović Njegoš stands. Njegoš was a prince-bishop, ruler and the greatest poet of Montenegro, and his mausoleum is one of the most visited places in the country.
The ride covers about 15 km on the mountain road through the forests and karst of Lovćen National Park. At the top you park below the mausoleum and climb the 461 steps through the mountain to the monument and the circular viewpoint behind it. On a clear day the view reaches over the Bay of Kotor, the mountains of Montenegro and towards Skadar Lake.
Your guide waits for you with the vehicles while you visit the mausoleum at your own pace, and then leads the ride back down. The whole tour takes about 1.5 hours. Entrance tickets for the national park and the mausoleum are paid separately on site.
Times are approximate. The pace, the stops and the exact route are adjusted to the group and to the weather and trail conditions on the day.
