The Vrbanj Plateau & Orjen Lake Ride takes the green route up Mount Orjen. From Kameno above Herceg Novi, the ride climbs to Vrbanj, one of the four large karst plateaux of the Orjen massif, where meadows, beech forest and old shepherd paths replace the busy coast.
From Vrbanj the route continues higher towards Orjenska lokva, a small mountain pond surrounded by rocky peaks and Bosnian pine. Orjen is home to plants found nowhere else in the world, and the higher you ride, the more the landscape changes from Mediterranean to true mountain scenery.
The tour is calmer than the Crkvice routes and ideal for riders who love nature and fresh mountain air. Plan 3 to 4 hours with stops at the plateau, the pond and the best viewpoints.
Times are approximate. The pace, the stops and the exact route are adjusted to the group and to the weather and trail conditions on the day.
